Before
the electronic age, the most common cause of neutral current was the
unbalanced load on phases, but these days, even if the phases are
completely balanced, the neutral current still flows. The fact is, the
neutral current in our electrical systems is a byproduct of third order
harmonics. It creates voltage distortion, equipment malfunction,
equipment failure, and downtime.
The CTT is a three-phase four-wire harmonic mitigating and neutral
current reducing device. The CTT is designed for parallel installation
in the electrical systems. It traps the third order harmonics by
creating a low impedance pathway.
The astonishing capability of the CTT becomes
more evident when it is installed in close proximity to the nonlinear
loads or the electrical panels feeding them.
Reduction of neutral current and mitigation of third order harmonics
reduce the heat produced in the transformer upstream of the CTT, and as
a result the available kVA of the transformer is increased.
The CTT's capability of reducing the voltage distortion facilitates
conformity with IEEE 519. CCT products are related according to their
neutral current reduction capability; For example, a 60 Amp CTT can
handle 60 Amp of neutral current (20 Amp per phase).
All connection points of CTT are accessible from the front of the unit.
The standard version of CTT has a maximum temperature rise of 130
°C.
The finished product is shipped in a
shrink-wrapped, gray NEMA 3R enclosure with corner protectors on our
unique SmartSkid®,
for safe and effortless transportation and installation. |
