Until now, the
most popular method for mitigating 5th and 7th harmonics using a
passive device has been the phase shifting. With this approach, two
loads, such as Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), are to work at the
same time and have equal power, so harmonics from one source of
nonlinear load is used to cancel the ones from the second source. In
reality such a perfect condition is very difficult to achieve and two
VFDs hardly ever operate simultaneously, making it nearly impossible to
apply the principles of phase shifting theory in real life.
As the result of more than 6 years of extensive theoretical
research, and development of many test laboratory apparatuses
and real application prototypes, as an unsurpassed solution for
simultaneous mitigation of harmonics and correction of power factor, OPTIMIZER™
is set to revolutionize the industry.
In the most simplistic form, OPTIMIZER™
is a passive device, which easily reduces electrical Current Total
Harmonic Distortion (ITHD) from 73%
to lower than 3.5% and Voltage
Total Harmonic Distortion (VTHD) from 10% to less than 1%, which are much
lower
than the ones required by IEEE 519. This effect in turn creates a clean
electrical power atmosphere for all other equipment in a facility.
OPTIMIZER™
improves the power factor
to 99.9%,
close
proximity of 100%,
and thereby eliminating surcharges imposed by
