How to SAVE ENERGY and IMPROVE power quality

Synergy Energy Inc. continually strives to better the dry-type transformer market by utilizing its dedicated technical and manufacturing expertise to save energy and improve power quality which not only benefits our immediate customers but also allows Synergy Energy Inc. to pave the way for a greener future.

Synergy Energy Inc. has a wide variety of products available for exactly such purpose.

All products and transformers designed and manufactured by Synergy Energy Inc. are copper wounded, brazed internally, and contain vibration dampers. Moreover, upon the customer's request, there are numerous options offered such as lug kits, various ground bars, thermal switches, over-current alarms, ultra quietness options, electrostatic shields, and many more to come.

In this issue, we are introducing one of our harmonic mitigating devices named CTT.

The CTT is a three-phase, four-wire harmonic mitigating and neutral current reducing device.

This device is designed for parallel installation in the electrical system and it traps the third order harmonics by creating a low impedance pathway; therefore, preventing such problems as voltage distortions, equipment malfunction, equipment failure, and downtime.

The astonishing capability of the CTT becomes more evident when it is compared to the nonlinear loads or the electrical panels feeding them.

By reducing the neutral current and mitigating the third order harmonics, the upstream of heat through the CTT is also reduced; therefore, the available kVA of the transformer is increased.

The CTT's capability of reducing the voltage distortion facilitates conformity with IEEE 519. CCT products are related according to their neutral current reduction capabilities. For instance, a 60 Amp CTT can handle 60 Amp of neutral current (20 Amp/phase).

CTT units designed by Synergy Energy Inc. are also unique for they allow access from the front of the unit and the standard version of CTT has a maximum temperature rise of 130 degrees.

The finished product is shipped in a shrink-wrapped, gray NEMA 3R enclosure with corner protectors on our unique
SmartSkid®, for safe transportation and effortless installation.

For more information regarding the CTT unit and other products please refer to the links at the bottom of our newsletter.

Did you know?

In our February issue, we introduced the subject of harmonics, its source, types, and negative effects.

This issue will present Synergy Energy Inc.'s solution.

Our Unsurpassed Solution

As you know, a transformer is the most important infrastructure of any electrical system and are therefore required to be sized and applied with full attention to harmonic creating loads.

By considering the K load factor, Synergy Energy Inc., designs and manufactures the harmonic mitigating transformers which are capable of mitigating the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 13th, and 15th harmonics at the root.

Efficiency Levels

Transformers designed and manufactured by Synergy Energy Inc. meet and exceed the required efficiency levels of NEMA TP-1, CSA 802.2, and US Department of Energy (DOE) CSL-3 standards. Furthermore, the efficiency compliance with NEMA and CSA standards of the transformers are verified by the third party verification body, Intertek, which is one of the most trusted test organizations in the world.

Verified products carry the Intertek Efficiency Verification logo together with the related verification number.

Coming up

The Synergy Energy Inc. family has been working vigorously for some time now on a newly designed product and we are all extremely excited and proud for its release in the next couple of months.

Stay tuned as the release of this product WILL be a milestone in the electrical industry.
